$3M for Clean Energy Ambassadors
Our statewide Clean Energy Ambassadors coalition began our collaboration in early January, uniting around the need for community-based energy experts in Washington state. We introduced the concept, built momentum with community partners and elected leaders, testified and advocated. As a result, beginning in January 2025, Washington will allocate $3 million to pilot the Clean Energy Ambassador program. Our plan is to co-create the pilot for 2025 and continue advocating for a fully funded statewide program in years to come.
$50M for Clean Energy Community Grants
We are thrilled that Washington invested $50 million for a novel non-competitive program to allocate clean energy project funds to areas of greatest need without requiring cumbersome grant applications. Paired with the new Ambassador program, this could be a great mechanism to improve equitable distribution of funds.
