Steve Winkelman
Steve Winkelman, Founder of Green Resilience Strategies, thrives in convening decision-makers to co-create scalable and equitable solutions to climate change, clean energy and resilient economic development. Before moving to Seattle, he was Executive Director of the Ottawa Climate Action Fund where he spearheaded strategic collaboration to decarbonize Canada’s largest tech park as a Green Energy Resilience District. As a Director at the Center for Clean Air Policy, Steve led the transportation working group for the first Puget Sound climate roadmap (CPAC), developed a national center for transit-oriented development in Colombia and launched the Urban Leaders Adaptation Initiative in partnership with King County, WA. He is co-author of two influential books on urban development and climate change (Growing Cooler and Growing Wealthier) and numerous other publications. Steve excels in bridging silos across government, industry, community and philanthropy — cultivating trust-based partnerships to solve complex problems with curiosity, humor and joy.
