Jen Yoshimura
Jennifer is a Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) with over two decades of experience in the energy and engineering industry. She recently joined Sustʻāinable Molokai as their Energy Director and is passionate about sharing her technical and industry knowledge that supports the Native Hawaiian and local Molokai community in achieving their clean energy and resilience goals. Before joining Sustʻāinable Molokai, she was an Advisor at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where she led energy equity, grid planning, resilience, and community technical assistance programs. She worked in the building industry as a design engineer, was a renewable energy planner at Hawaiian Electric Company, and an energy efficiency management engineer at Puget Sound Energy (PSE). She managed PSE’s transmission engineering team and HDR’s Washington State Power Delivery team, which comprised transmission, distribution, and substation engineering teams. Jennifer believes that communities need to be recognized and integrated throughout the planning, design, and development of energy projects and policies.
