Spark Northwest provides educational events to community members to support renewable energy project development.
Spark Northwest accelerates the shift to clean energy one community at a time. Our programs make affordable, locally-controlled clean energy more accessible for all.
We make it possible for people to take steps to reduce the impacts of climate change and pursue renewable energy options—like solar, wind, and water—to power their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Our focus on clean energy project implementation and advocacy for community energy policies makes us uniquely impactful in the region. We have worked with over 100 communities from the Rogue Valley to Seattle, catalyzing hundreds of clean energy projects at the local level.
We provide three core services:
We provide tools, training, and expertise that bring citizens together to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. We provide coaching on every stage of the project, including planning, project design, resource evaluation, financial modeling, permitting assistance and contractor selection. You can learn more about our active projects here.
We provide renewable energy and energy efficiency education and outreach through materials and workshops. We have developed training curricula and materials to conduct workshop series, seminars, and small group trainings. Check out some of our free resources here.
We draw on our tactical experience to advocate for policy reform that paves the way for widespread adoption of clean energy. We convene stakeholders and build coalitions to research, design and advocate for policies that promote equitable renewable energy implementation. Check out our current policy activities here.
