Community & Distributed Wind

Nelson_and_Turbine_MountainsNorthwest Wind Resource & Action Center

Spark Northwest partnered with Renewable Northwest and the Oregon Department of Energy to launch the Northwest Wind Resource and Action Center, one of six regional centers nationwide supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. The goal of the center was to provide high-quality, fact-based information to key stakeholders and the general public to support decision-making on regional wind energy issues.  Spark Northwest led the Community and Distributed Wind Working Group, with a focus on standardizing permitting and zoning, supporting innovative financing models, and providing direct technical assistance.
